Fraud risk reports

Protect your bottom line with automatic weekly Fraud Risk Reports that grade risk levels (Low/Med/High), track repeat offender streaks, and flag unusual loyalty point and gift card activity across your accounts.

What's new

What's new

What's new

  • Automated Weekly Monitoring: Leat now analyzes activity patterns across your accounts and generates a weekly report highlighting suspicious user behavior.

  • Risk Grading & Streaks: Flagged contacts are assigned a Low, Medium, or High risk rating, along with a "weeks in a row" streak to track persistent offenders.

  • Loyalty Points Risk Detection: Analyzes a contact’s recent point activity for sudden bursts (multiple transactions within minutes), unusual transaction volume, or point earnings that dwarf their normal baseline.

  • Gift Card Hoarding Alerts: Tracks gift card acquisition over a 30-day window, flagging contacts who hoard high volumes of cards or cross hard thresholds (e.g., 10+ cards).

  • Actionable Controls:

    • Exclude Trusted Buyers: Whitelist legitimate high-volume contacts (like corporate gift buyers) so they don't clutter future reports.

    • Block Suspect Cards: Instantly hold a contact's gift cards at the register pending your review.

Why we built this

Why we built this

Why we built this

Unusual point spikes and gift card hoarding are often signs of promo abuse, account sharing, or fraud. Catching these manually after reconciliation is difficult and expensive. These automated reports act as an early-warning system so your support and management teams can intervene before potential fraud turns into lost revenue.

What this means for you

This feature is currently in Beta and can be toggled on at any time. Because activity is evaluated relative to your brand’s normal baselines, high-volume and quiet accounts are assessed fairly without triggering false alarms.

Where to find it

Head to Settings → Features → Fraud-risk reports to enable the feature.

💡 Tip: Once enabled, kick off your first report manually. After that, Leat will automatically generate and run your report every week.

Heads up

Fraud risk reports analyze loyalty activity, such as transaction volume, points earned, points redeemed, and unusual spikes in activity. The Fraud Risk Score is an indicator of unusual behaviour, not proof of fraudulent activity. We recommend reviewing flagged contacts before taking any action.
