Introducing recurring emails

Recurring emails make it easier to send the right message at the right time, with built-in options for birthdays and retention, plus the flexibility to create your own audience and schedule.

What's new

What's new

What's new

  • Birthday emails: Automatically reach contacts on their birthday or a set number of days before it.

  • Retention emails: Reach customers when they hit a specific number of days since their last visit, making it easier to reconnect with customers at the right moment.

  • Custom recurring emails: Create your own audience filters and choose the cadence that works for your use case, such as regular loyalty points updates.

  • Everything in one flow: Set up your email, audience, conditions, and schedule together instead of managing them across separate features.

Why we built this

Why we built this

Why we built this

Recurring use cases like birthday emails, retention campaigns, and regular loyalty updates previously required several pieces to work together: an automation, the right audience filters, and an automated email.

Recurring emails bring that setup into one place. Choose the type of email you want to send, and the relevant audience, timing, and resend behavior are built into the flow making recurring communication much easier to set up and manage.

What this means for you

  • Less setup: Birthday and retention emails come with purpose-built conditions, so you don't need to recreate the logic yourself.

  • Reach customers at the right time: Send birthday messages around a customer's birthday or reconnect when they reach a specific number of days without a visit.

  • More flexibility when you need it: Use Custom recurring emails when you want to define your own audience and cadence.

  • Easier to manage: Your content, audience, conditions, and schedule live together in one recurring email flow.

Where to find it

Head to Marketing → Emails and create a new Recurring email. From there, choose the type of recurring email you want to create and configure its audience, conditions, and schedule.

Heads up

The existing Birthday and Retention presets in Automations have been switched off, as recurring emails now replace these use cases.

If you need more customization than the built-in Birthday or Retention options provide, you can still create the workflow manually.
